Black Cabs’ Recovery Route is via China and Italy

The last London taxi built with parts made in the UK has rolled off the black cab’s production line amid a crisis that has included the worst sales of the famous hackney carriage in many years.
In a couple of weeks’ time, when Managanese Bronze reopens its Coventry plant after the factory’s summer holidays, the 150 workers that are left making the TX4 London cab will be assembling a Chinese-made body with an Italian-made engine.
