New Kindle Sells for $139

The e-commerce giant–Amazon.com has just introduced two new versions of the Kindle e-reader. Both new versions of the Kindles are smaller and lighter, with higher contrast screens and crisper text.
One of the new Kindle version is sold at the price of $139, which is the lowest price so far for the device, as Amazon is looking to convince the casual readers that they should have a digital reading device. Amazon is turning to consumer electronics manufacturing, which signals its intentions to start a price war with Apple and its iPad as well as the other manufacturers of e-readers such as Sony and Barnes & Noble. This approach fired another shot in an e-reader price war, which is leading up to the year-end holiday shopping season.
Unlike previous Kindles, the $139 “Kindle Wi-Fi” will connect to the Internet only through Wi-Fi rather than a mobile network as other Kindles do. Amazon is also introducing a model to replace the Kindle 2, which will be sold at $189 as well.
