New Pay Deal Ends Threat of BT Strike

BT has ended the possibility of strike action at the UK’s leading fixed-line phone company via announcing a sweetened pay deal for its blue-collar workers.
BT workers who are members of the Communication Workers Union will get a 3% pay rise during each of the next three years. The agreement is at the upper end of pay deals in 2010 and could boost pressure on other employers to offer increases that match inflation as the economy recovers.
